Create a Non-Traditional Course Site

This service enables authorized users to request a non-traditional course site in the Learning Management System (LMS) for courses not residing in Sault College’s Student Information System (e.g., workshops, professional development). The IT team configures the site using provided details, including purpose, course name, facilitators (up to two), sections, and start/end dates. Facilitators can add other college employees to the site. This is similar to a course sandbox; however, sandboxes are meant for development, where users build, plan, and prepare content for later export and import into a live course, while non-traditional courses are meant for course delivery.

Who can request this service?

  • Academic Assistants or faculty members responsible for requesting non-traditional course sites in the LMS.

  • Facilitators (up to two per course) who will manage the non-traditional course site.

When is this service available?

Available 24/7 via the TeamDynamix Service Portal, with processing during IT Service Desk business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM).

Before you request this service, you will need to...

  • Confirm the purpose of the non-traditional course site request (e.g., workshop, professional development, community program).

  • Verify the course name and, if applicable, course code.

  • Identify the facilitator(s) of the non-traditional course (maximum of two).

  • Determine if multiple sections are required for the course site.

  • Confirm whether start and end dates apply to the course site, and if so, provide the specific dates.

Note to Requestors:

  • Ensure all required information (purpose, course name, facilitator(s), sections, and start/end dates) is accurate and complete when submitting the ticket, as incomplete details may delay site creation.

  • Clearly indicate the non-traditional nature of the course (e.g., not in Sault College’s Course Information System) and specify that it is for course delivery, distinct from a sandbox used for content development.

  • Facilitators listed in the request will be granted access to manage the course site and can add other college employees as needed.

  • If multiple sections are requested, specify the number of sections in the ticket.

  • For any issues with LMS access or non-traditional course site setup, contact the IT Service Desk for assistance prior to submitting the ticket.
