Overview

Sometimes you forget your password, but still need to change it. Through a feature of your Microsoft Office 365 account, you can configure Self-Service Password Reset, to allow you to change your Sault College password from anywhere, at anytime, without having to talk to an IT Service Desk Technician.

Instructions

  1. Go to: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/ and log in.
  2. In the top right corner of the browser, click on your round avatar picture or the circle with your initials (in this case JD in a green circle). Then click View Account
  3. In the panel that appears to the right titled "Security Info" click the UPDATE INFO link.
  4. To reset your password, Microsoft needs a third party email address (@gmail.com, @hotmail.com, @shaw.ca etc.) or a personal phone number where it can send a security code; you can choose a cell number to receive the code by text or any phone number where you can be called at to receive the code. Click +Add Method
  5. Choose either Email or Phone, these are mandatory.  If you choose to do so, you can use an Authenticator app on your cell phone to generate a code, however you cannot add this until you have added a Phone and Email entry.
  6. Follow the remaining steps to register each method you choose.
