Overview
Using your college provisioned device, you can easily run the application by following these steps. Please see the Related Articles if you haven't installed the software yet. Ensure you are connected to an Internet connection that is external to the College.
Instructions
To Start the VPN
Method 1:
- Click the Start Button - (The Windows logo displayed in the bottom left of your screen)
- Search through the menu and click Cisco Secure Client

Method 2:
- On the right side of the Start Button click into the Search field
- Type: Cisco Secure Client (You may only need to type Cisco before Windows displays the application)
- Click on the application to start it.
The program will open and SC-VPN should be pre-populated if it has been setup on your PC. If this field isn't populated, please reach out to Service Desk for assitance.

You will now be presented with a Microsoft Login screen. Since your account is linked to Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) this occurs.
- USERNAME: {College username}
- Password: {College Password}
- Click OK

Depending on how your MFA is configured, you will be directed to confirm the login. The below example related to the Authenticator app. To read more about MFA click here.

NOTE:
You are now connected to the College Network as if you are at the College.
You should now see an icon in the system tray, which is located on the taskbar, in the bottom right of your screen, that indicates the connection was successful.
Verify you are connected
To verify that you have been connected successfully you can:
- Look for the Cisco Secure Client icon in the system tray on the taskbar. If you see an engaged lock on the icon you know you are connecte

NOTE:
To see hidden icons, you
may need to click on the up arrow in the system tray, which is on the taskbar beside the clock.

Instead of navigating to the Cisco Secure Client program through the Start Menu, you can click the icon in the system tray,
once,
to start the login process
You can disconnect from the VPN by either right-clicking on the Cisco Secure Client icon, in the system tray, and click
Disconnect or by opening the application from the Start menu and clicking Disconnect.
