How to install Read&Write toolbar

Overview

Read&Write is designed to help students understand, engage and express themselves. Read&Write is a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments and proofing written work. 

Once installed, staff and students can log into the application using their Sault College account.

NOTE: If you need to install this software on a Corporate Staff computer, please log a ticket in TeamDynamix and reference this article.

Download and Install Read&Write via Texthelp

Navigate to the Read&Write trial page here: https://www.texthelp.com/products/read-and-write-education/writing-and-expression/

On their website, click the "Try Read&Write" button and select the platform you're using.

On Windows, open the EXE file that was downloaded and install it.

Follow through with default options. Select "Accept and Install" to begin the installation.

Once installed, you can launch the toolbar from your start menu.

You will see the Read&Write toolbar in the top-right of your screen. Click the purple rw puzzle piece to initiate the login process.

This will open up a webpage that will prompt you for a login.

Choose "Sign in with Microsoft".

Student USERNAME: studentnumber@saultcollege.ca (Example: 12345678@saultcollege.ca)
Staff USERNAME: First initial+lastname@saultcollege.ca (Example: ajones@saultcollege.ca)

NOTE: Sault College stores our account on Microsoft Servers.

You should see a "Thanks for signing in! ... " information box.

AND, the Read&Write Toolbar will open at the top of your monitor.
