Overview: What Packback Does
Packback is an interactive discussion and writing platform integrated directly into Brightspace. It supports inquiry‑based learning, student writing development, and transparent use of AI in academic work.
Through the Brightspace integration, Packback provides instructors with:
- Inquiry‑based online discussions driven by student‑generated questions
- AI‑supported writing feedback for students (real‑time coaching on clarity, depth, and evidence)
- AI transparency indicators showing how AI may have been used in student writing
(Packback emphasizes transparency and coaching, not punitive AI detection)
- Instructor insights into student engagement, writing quality, and participation
- Integrated grading, with scores passed back to the Brightspace gradebook
- Automatic enrollment and roster syncing from Brightspace
Packback is more than a discussion forum — it is a guided learning environment that helps students practice academic inquiry, improve writing, and engage responsibly with AI‑supported tools.

Packback Access Options (Overview)
Packback can be launched in two ways:

✅ Faculty should use Packback Deep Link for all student‑facing activities.
Packback (Basic Launch)
The Basic Launch opens Packback without creating a content item for students.

Once all required fields are completed, the community will be created successfully.
