Installing Avid Media Ultimate

Overview

These instructions guide you through the process of installing the software once the licenses have been purchased. The steps include downloading the software, installing it, and activating the license on the target computer.

Downloading the Software

  1. Ensure that you are downloading the software on the computer where it will be installed, or at least on a computer with the same OS version (Mac / Win).
  2. Visit [my.avid.com].
  3. Log in using the email softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca. The password can be found in KeePass.
  4. Navigate to ‘My Products’ and select ‘View My Products’.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Click on ‘Media Composer | Ultimate’.
  6. Select ‘VIEW Software Download Links & Product Details’.
  7. Choose ‘Mac’ (since we purchased for Mac computers).
  8. Download ‘Media Composer Ultimate {version}’.
  9. Install the software

Note: Remember to note down the System ID: 10611200139 and Activation IDs for the next steps. If Auto Activate works, this step won’t be necessary.

Activating the License on the Destination Computer

After installing the software, follow these instructions on ‘How to Activate Media Composer in Avid Link’ to activate the license on the target computer.
