Redeming an Avid Education License

Overview

After purchasing your the requested AVID license you will need to verify Sault College's Academic status to receive the installation codes.  Below is the process to do this.  This process can only begin once the Redemption keys are provided to you, and Annex Pro wouldn't release these licenses until they received payment.

Instructions

1. Once the order is complete an email will be sent to softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca providing us with Redemption Codes

2. Please follow the instructions below for Education license installation.

   Pro Tools 1-Year Subscription NEW (2022) - Cancelled in 2023
   Avid Media Composer 1-Year Subscription NEW (2023) - New

3. Each Year they will provide a set of Redemption Keys, which is the first step of 3.  For you reference, below are what the keys will look like.  These keys are not for installing the software but are the first step in getting Academic authorized.

Verify your academic eligibility instructions below.

Using the same email address for each required login {softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca}

• Use the redemption codes received from the supplier (Annex Pro)
• To redeem these codes go to:
  • Go to MyAvid - my.avid.com/account/orientation?websource=avid OR go direcly to the link Register & Download Your Product (avid.com) (my.avid.com/products/redemption)
    • Login with Softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca
    • Password: {In Keepass}
    • Click Register Software With Code

• Enter the Redemption Key Provided within the Vendor's email

Verify your Academic status

• Click Start
• I had to click "Can't find your institution"
• Enter softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca
• I checked my email and received a code
• I checked my email and received a code from Proxi.id Verification Service ,request@proxi.id>
• In this email click the link called the verfication app
  
• Click Have a verification code?
   
• Enter the email address: softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca and the newly generated Verification Code example code above Q0aGb1wTN8lJ
• Click Submit and wait about 45 seconds for the page to refresh
   
• Your product will be added to your Avid Account. After registration is complete, you can access download files on your Avid Products page to install and activate your product. You can also use the Avid Link app to redeem, download, install, update and renew your software.

2. Click Agree and continue
   
   
    
3. In the ACTIVATE PRO TOOLS window
   1. Leave the email address as Softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca
   2. Click Continue >
      
      
       
4. You will see the message as below... {It does take a bit of time}
   
   
5. You should see that your subscription is activated
   
   
6. Click Back to My Account
7. REPEAT THE ABOVE PROCESS WITH ALL THE PROVIDED REDEMPTION CODES PROVIDED BY AVID

Identit-E - Generating the License Keys for installing the software

1. In the above steps a 2nd code (EDU code) will be generated and will be saved in our AVID profile – use this for academic verification at Identit-E.
2. Go back tot https://my.avid.com and click VIEW MY PRODUCTS in the home tab.  You will find the new EDU codes that were generated here (These are not your product install keys, yet)
   
   
3. Identit-E generates another code (the Product key) upon approval (could take up to 48 hours)
   1. My experience was that it was approved instantly
4. Either, click the link in Avid's Portal (see above) or navigate to www.identit-e.com/avid.
   1. Under Product Information
      1. Enter your verification number
      2. Click continue
         
         
5. Under User Information
   1. Enter your birth date {One person has to be named to the license so Academic Status can be confirmed}
   2. Click continue
   3. Under Select your user type, choose Staff
   4. Click continue
   5. Enter the softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca email address to keep it generic.  Not all sites allow generic emails for Educational approvals.
   6. Click continue
      
      
6. Under Verification Information
   1. Enter your name
   2. Use the College's Address
   3. Click continue
      
      
7. Under About You
   1. Complete this section
   2. Click verify me!
      
      
   3. You will be directed to the  Thank you for submitting your verification request! screen
      
      
8. If you have more Redemption Keys to submit
   1. Click the Click here link to submit another Avid verification request LINK
   2. NOTE: on the left hand side there is an option to check status

Installing your license

Get the EDU key from the Avid's portal

The software can now be Authorized by visiting the AVID Account at https://my.avid.com/products/redemption.

Once logged select “Register Software with Code” and copy/paste the download code provided in the Email.

Follow the step-by-step instructions provided to activate & register your product. You can return to your product information at any time after activation by logging into your account. Click on "View My Products" in your account AFTER activation has been completed. Your downloads and all associated activation codes/serial numbers will appear here once you have used the download code provided here.

Detailed Activation Instructions:

1. Copy your download code from above and then visit the activation webpage: https://my.avid.com/products/redemption
   
   
2. If you are not already logged in to your Avid account (which is your account on the Avid website used for downloads, activations, and Avid Store purchases), you will be prompted to log in before proceeding. If you are not able to log in, you may need to create an account, even if you have previously registered an Avid product online.
3. Once logged in paste or enter the above Activation code in the designated space on the page and click on the "Register Product" button.
   
   
    
4. Click Agree and continue to the AVID SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
   
   
    
5. You will be directed to the Activate Pro Tools screen.  The email address should automatically be added
   
   
    
6. Click Continue >
   
   
    
7. Once your account is setup
8. You will be automatically directed to the next page where your download options and all associated activation codes & serial numbers are available.
   
   
    
9. You will be sent a confirmation email upon completion of the activation process.
10. You can return to your product information at any time after activation by logging into your account: http://account.avid.com. Click on "View My Products" in your account AFTER activation has been completed. Your downloads and all associated activation codes/serial numbers will appear here once you have already used your download code.

1. Locate the email that was sent to you from Identit-e. A Download Code will be provided.
2. The email will also provide this link to redeem this Download Code https://my.avid.com/products/redemption
3. Log back into https://my.avid.com/account {Username and Password is in KeePass for Service Desk and Solutions Specialists}
4. Click VIEW MY PRODUCTS
5. Click ProTools
   1. A list of software that has been purchased will appear
   2. Copy the EDU keys

Checking your verification status

When a Subscription expires, the software stops working. The current grace period for Subscription renewals has been extended to 14 days but if a customer let the Subscription lapse past the 14 days, the renewal code will no longer work and they will need to purchase a new Subscription.
