OnPrem File Server for GIS Applications

Overview

GIS Faculty requested a location to store on site large files for students.  Kevin and Joe implemented the below

Instructions

The name of the onPrem Server is: VMFILE02P

Faculty:

1. Heath Bishop
2. Gerard Lavoe

In Active Directory two security groups have been created:

1. Staff/group/gisfaculty (Read and Write only access)
2. Student/groups/gisstudents (Read only access)
3. Students don’t get R&W here because One Drive is for Read & Write

Students should bring their own USB drives and use OneDrive, at a minimum, for backup.
