Overview
When purchasing licenses for Mentimeter, the admin account (softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca) is automatically included in the total number of licenses. This means you cannot purchase licenses for others without having one for the admin account. Here are the steps to purchase and renew licenses for your faculty members.

My Question:
I'm logging with softwareadmin@saultacollege.ca to https://www.mentimeter.com/plans/education.
When I try to purchase licenses for 4 users, it is forcing me to purchase for 5 users. I can't un-select my admin account. I need to purchase for 4 users and can't figure out how. What steps to I have to follow to buy four faculty accounts, they have existing, expired Teams accounts. Help !

Thank you for reaching out to Mentimeter. I am Christina and I'll be happy to assist you

The account under softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca would count as one of the licenses. You cannot purchase licenses for others without having one yourself.
Randy - Interesting. Is there anyway to seperate that part? Without loosing any Menti's created by our faculty.

Once you made the purchase you become the team owner. You could change ownership of the team to another member. We can help you with that and then leave the team. However once this is done you are not part of the team anymore and the new owner would be accountable for billing, renewal etc
Randy - Ouch. I guess that's not a good idea. So can you give me a step by step on how to renew:
Is this what I need to follow:
1) navigate to https://www.mentimeter.com/plans/education
2) Choose Upgrade to Pro
3) Check all accounts we want to renew (softwareadmin@saultcollege.ca license is required for Purchasing managment)
4) Click Save and Continue
5) Enter Purchasing information and click Pay and Subscribe.
Would that get those account going?

Great! Were you able to successfully purchase the additional licenses?
Not yet. I have to open a purchase order with my purchasing department so was hoping a final confirmation on the steps above. I need to give it to them to complete for me and I have to get approval from the manager to puchase an extra management account 😞

Hi there,
Once you've received approval to purchase a subscription, you can either pay with a credit card on our plans page or enter your information on our invoice request form to receive an invoice payable by bank transfer.
In both cases, the account you are signed in to will be owner of the workspace, and you can invite other users to your workspace and assign a licence, or invite them as a Member Lite.
Randy - Sounds good. Thank you. How about the step by step instructions, I entered above, are those accurate?

If you're buying multiple licences, you would not enter the individual accounts at checkout, but send invitation to them to join your workspace, after completing the purchase.
Randy - Oh, when I follow the steps I included, on step 3, it give me options to pick accounts at that time. Are these steps incorrect then, and could you please give me the correct steps for these individuals Pro renewals.
I was told, above, I need to purchase the admin account, unless I assigned admin rights to a faculty member; so they were guiding me to check all accounts I want to renew at that time, so, these last instructions seems to be contradicting the previous instructions. Can you clarify? Thank you

Hi there,
Thanks for your question.
Since your account and the colleagues you want to upgrade were previously part of an Enterprise subscription, it is a little more convoluted to purchase a few licenses for your colleagues.
Ideally, you should remove all accounts from the workspace first or start a new workspace, which is achieved by removing all members from it, one by one. Please note that any shared templates and presentations in the shared folder will not be accessible after doing this.
It should also be possible to upgrade just a few members of your team, by following the steps you have outlined.
Just select the members you wish to upgrade and continue with the checkout.
As mentioned by my colleague, the owner account will require a license, so we recommend that the person who will oversee and manage the workspace makes the purchase directly from their account.
Feel free to use any of these 2 options (Start a workspace from scratch and upgrade specific members, as stated in your steps) and let us know if everything looks good on your end.
Kind regards,
Carlos
