Minitab - Setting up account for first use, and using software at school or home

Minitab is Statistical program that was purchased for the Mechatronics Degree program.  Sault College has a limited number of licenses which can only be accessed if you are in the program and your faculty members has approved access to use the software.  If you have been provided access, please continue to read below on how to setup your account for first use and how to load the software at school or home.

Instructions

1. Once you have been granted access to use this software, you will receive a welcome email to your Sault College account.
2. Click the link in the email to begin the process of activating your account.
   NOTE: You are responsible to manage the username/password, as this account is created and stored in Minitab's servers.
   
   
    
3. Fill out the Activate your account form
4. Save your password in a safe place.  
   NOTE: Information Technology will be unable to assist with the Minitab account.  If you've forgotten your password, please use the Forgot Password link when trying to login.  If you are still having issues, please reach out to your faculty member for assistance.
   
   
    
5. Click Activate Your Account
6. You should now the the Success message (see below image)
7. Click Continue
   
   
    
8. At this point you have 3 options on how to launch the software
   1. RECOMMENDED: Go to https://appsanywhere.saultcollege.ca to launch the software
   2. Download the Desktop App
   3. Open the Web App
      
      
       
9. If you choose to use https://appsanywhere.saultcollege.ca you can close the Welcome to Minitab! web page now.

Using AppsAnywhere to launch Minitab

If you haven't used AppsAnywhere before, please review this knowledge based article AppsAnywhere - How to start using AppsAnywhere

1. Search for Mintab in the AppsAnywhere Store
2. Click Launch
   
   
    
3. After a few minutes your application will load
4. You will be presented with a Sign In to License Portal window
5. Enter the username and password you just created in the previous steps
   1. Only use Keep me signed in on a personal computer and not on a college lab computer.
   2. Don't attempt to use other Internet providers to login to Mintab as these companies haven't been link to our Sault College Accounts.
      
      
       
6. Click Next
7. Type your Password
8. If Minitab prompts you to Update your copy of Minitab either:
   1. Click Cancel each time you load the software
   2. Click Configure Options
      1. Set Check frequency setting to 180 days
      2. Click OK
      3. Click Cancel
         
         
          

NOTE: The AppsAnywhere​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ version of Minitab can be updated using the requested method on a personal device, but each time you change computers or remove/re-add Minitab the software version will be reset back to the original version.  If you are un-sure, speak to your Faculty member about the version of the software you should be using.
