How to Retire (Delete) a Cloudpaged App
Clients
Make sure to release all app sessions before deleting https://docs.software2.com/s2hub/admin/latest/connectors/numecent-cloudpaging/managing-app-sessions
Servers
If a Cloudpaged application is no longer needed you can retire and delete the application from your Cloudpaging infrastructure.
It's important to follow the correct process to prevent deleted apps from remaining cached on your Paging servers, and to avoid any errors.
The correct order is as follows:
- If you are using AppsAnywhere, you should first delete the application or specific delivery method from AppsAnywhere.
- You can then delete the application from your Cloudpaging infrastructure via the Cloudpaging admin portal:
- Navigate to your Cloudpaging Admin site https://appsanywhere-admin.saultcollege.ca/jukeboxserver and go to Applications > Applications.
- Select the application you wish to remove and click Publish/Unpublish
- Select the paging servers you wish to unpublish the app from (all of them in most cases) and click Unpublish
- Select the same application and click Delete.
- Remove the .stp file from your repository.
Note:
If you get an error when trying to delete the application, see our article here: [Known Issue] Batch update returned unexpected row count from update
Warning:
- If you delete an appset (.stp) from your repository before removing it via the AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging admin portals, a support call may be required to resolve the resulting error.
- Be careful not to load up the "New Virtualized Application" option or click the new application "Refresh" button in AppsAnywhere while you are in the process of removing a Cloudpaged application. This will automatically register any applications in the repository to your systems, which may include the one you are trying to remove.
