Final Grades for 20W:
Due Tuesday April 28, 2020 @ 12:00 noon.
There may be a one-day delay due to the COVID situation.
Mass registration occurs the night of Tuesday April 28, 2020, meaning Wednesday April 29 am.
The following night, Students are loaded into the 20S course sites in LMS via an update to the SIS Web screen D2L Control Table.
Student 20S is added, that occurs during the day after Mass Registration has been confirmed successful.
Final Grades
To review Final Grades that came out of D2L, use SIS Web screen D2L Grade Inquiry.
To review Final Grades successfully transferred to SIS, use SIS Web screen Grade Inquiry.
Final Grades no longer appear in Grade Inquiry after they are rolled to Transcript.
Final Grades are collected in D2L @ 12:00 pm and 1:00 am every day.
Final Grades are processed into SIS @ 1:30 am, 12:30 pm, 6:30 pm.
If the Grades collected in D2L do not complete prior to the SIS Grade run, they have to wait until the next SIS Grade run. To see when they completed, there is a course in D2L called Grades Export.
Grades Export course in LMS <- where are the collected Final Grades?
Step 1) Go into Course Admin from the course homepage menu
Step 2) from there, go to Manage Files
Step 3) go to Outbox
Step 4) sort the files in Outbox, until the most recent files are on the top.
The csv files contain the grades processed and ready for export. The export is driven from our side and collects the files that are ready for export. In the above example, the 2:09 am run missed the 1:30 am SIS processing event, so has to wait until the next SIS run, which is at starts at 12:30 pm. The time of the run is not when the grades are in SIS. People need to allow approximately thirty to forty-five minutes before looking for Final Grades in SIS. Some grades will appear early, some take longer, until it completes the processing event.
Courses Without Grades Inquiry
Academic Assistants use a screen called Course Without Grades Inquiry to look for missing grades. That is where the times above are critical. Even the afternoon Final Grade collection run missed the 12:30 PM SIS processing event. It has to wait until the next SIS processing event, which is 6:30 pm. Academic Assistants will expect to see the grades that were processed before 12:00 noon, at 1:00 pm that same day, in SIS. It all depends when the Final Grades collection event completed in D2L.
Faculty Grade Verification Inquiry is the SIS Web screen Faculty use to check their Final Grades submissions for success. The completion times of the Grades Export runs will cause people to believe they did something wrong. It will also trigger a number of calls, potentially, from Academic Assistants, and Faculty, thinking they did something wrong.
