Overview
The Computer Studies program has registered for access to VMWare's IT Academy. This rich resource will give students and faculty the ability to study for certifications, get course and certification discounts and access VMWare software for Academic Purposes only, while attending Sault College in a related course.

Instructions
If your faculty has granted you access to the VMWare's IT Academy you will receive and email to your Sault College account that informs you of your registration.

Completing your registration
NOTE: An email was triggered when the Enrollment was confirmed in the previous step
At this point the Instructor/Participants will need to click on the Click here to login or register an account to proceed link in the email sent to you
If the you are logged in then you will be brought to the VMWare webpage and asked to click the green button Click here to redeem
If you don't have account you will have to create one first. For screen shots please see (Registering for your VMWare Account) at the bottom of the Article.
Once Logged in click the green Click here to redeem button.
After clicking the button you will receive your confirmation message on the webpage
Accessing your VMWare resources
Now that you've been provided access and confirmed that access you can now use this new resource.
Goto itacademy.vmware.com
In the top right hand corner click Student Login and login with your new account
You will now see your Courses Homepage.
Downloading Curriculum Related Software
In order to download and license the VMWare software available to you:
First, Click View All Courses (18), found in the bottom left hand side of you VMWare D2L homepage (see above image)
Note: This homepage can change and is dependant on what resources your faculty member has chosen for you to have access to
At the bottom of the next page click the Key Download Catalog: Software Licensing offering
The following page will give you all the instructions you will need to download and access the key for you software
1) Requesting your 1-Year License Key
Click either, the Software License Catalog or click here under the To request software license keys, link on this page
Click the green Request button for the product key you require (see image below for an example of Requesting vmware Workstation Pro)
You will now be presented with two options Log in or Register
Click the green Log in button to complete your request for the license key
In the Check out window you should now see a message thanking you for requesting your ... key
Note:
- It takes up to 12 hours to send you your key
- Check your spam folder
- VMWare's support email is (itacademy@vmware.com)
- Sault College IT Support won't be able to help you with VMWare keys
When you receive your key to your Sault College email account it will look this.
Since you are already logged into your VMWare D2L ITAcademy home page, you should need to "finish your registration process"
2) Downloading your VMWare software
The recommended method is to click the link to your software download under the Direct Links for Software Download section on the right hand side of your VMWare ITAcademy Homepage.
You will immediately be brought to the download page for youR product.
Scroll to the bottom to access the download link.
Here is an example of Downloading VMWare Workstation 16 Pro
FIRST: CLICK the product you want to download
SECOND: Scroll down and click the link to the download you want
THIRD: Your software will immediately start to download now.
Licensing your copy software
Once you install your newly download VMWare software and have entered your license key you will noticed that you will have more than 1 year to use this software for your studies.
Registering for your VMWare Account
Click the green Register button
Fill out the form with your information
NOTE: Make sure you used your Sault College Email for registering. Please keep track of this new password as it is unique to VMWare IT Academy website and our Sault College Service Desk won't be able to assist you with this password
Lastly, you will receive a confirmation page
Click the grey Continue button to proceed
Once Logged in click the green Click here to redeem button.
After clicking the button you will receive your confirmation message on the webpage
