Downloading and Configuring NetSupport School

1. Open your start menu and type in 'Company Portal' to find the Company Portal app. This is a portal with a list of software that does not require admin intervention to install.

2. Within the Company Portal app, select and install NetSupport School. If you do not see NetSupport School in your list of applications, please contact IT to be added to the group.

3. Once the installation completes, open your start menu again and look for NetSupport School Tutor Console. Multiple related applications will be installed, but this Tutor Console is the only one you'll be using.

4. Choose the left option: 'Provide access to the full suite of features in the classroom'.

5. Choose 'New' in the right bar to set up your connection to the lab.

6. Select 'Room Mode'.

7. When prompted for the name of the room, type in 'ESSSM' (without quotes). It must be exactly this to see the computers.

8. From this point on, you will see ESSSM on the main menu. Once you select it, it will bring up a list of all the computers.

9. The order of the computers will be in a straight line by default. There is a layout file that you can import that will arrange the computers into the same order that the physical computers are in. The layout file is attached to this help article. Download the file from the right bar.

10. Copy this file from your downloads folder to the following path:

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\NetSupport\NetSupport School

You can immediately jump to this folder by opening the File Explorer and pasting the path into the address bar. Change the {username} part to your Sault College username (typically first initial + last name.)
